ASA and Red Angus have agreed to partner for a July 22, 23 and 24 meeting targeting 30 Simmental and 30 Red Angus members.
Even though the label is Young Guns, no age limit or herd size restrictions will be imposed. The program details are not yet completed, but we will feature both outstanding speakers and audience interactive sessions.  Of course, several topics will relate to opportunities for AR and ASA plan future cooperative projects

The Association's new genetic monitoring policy went into effect June 1.  Check ASA's Herdbook Services web site to see how the genetic status is reported for each animal using color codes to help identify the status.  In addition to identifying animals that are tested free and tested carrier for a genetic defect, animals are identified if they have a carrier in their lineage and if they come from a population with a risk for that defect.
